CENTER POINT, Ala.–A man who died in an apartment fire in Center Point last Friday has been identified, according to the Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office.
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Ta’Ciaven Malique Craig of Birmingham.
In the early morning hours of Aug. 16, Center Point Fire and Rescue and Trussville Fire and Rescue responded to a report of an apartment building fire with a possible entrapment at the Summer Rise Apartments in the 1900 block of East Bend Circle.
After the fire was extinguished, Craig was found by fire personnel inside an apartment, which is believed to be where the fire originated.
The Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
