CLEBURNE COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, has claimed the life of a Wadley man, according to Lieutenant Jeremy J. Burkett of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
“Dillion C. Wheeles, 30, was fatally injured when the 2009 Chrysler Sebring he was driving collided head-on with the 2018 International Prostar tractor-trailer driven by Leslie C. Crowder, 74, of Valley,” Burkett said. “Wheeles was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
The crash occurred on U.S. 431 near the 219 mile marker, approximately six miles southeast of Oxford, in Cleburne County.
No further information is available as troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
