BLOUNT COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, has claimed the life of a Cleveland man, according to Senior Trooper Cody Farrar of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Gregory S. Cantrell, 64, was fatally injured when the 2002 Toyota Avalon he was driving collided head-on with the 2022 Toyota Highlander driven by a Warrior woman.
“Cantrell was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Farrar said.
The driver of the Highlander was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment.”
The crash occurred on Alabama 160 near the 2 mile marker, approximately eight miles southwest of Hayden, in Blount County.
No further information is available as troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
