BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–A 10-year-old girl died Saturday afternoon from injuries she sustained in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 59 near East Lake, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The 10-year-old has been identified as Tia Williams of Birmingham.
The wreck occurred at approximately 1:10 p.m. on I-59 near Oporto Madrid Blvd.
Williams was transported to UAB hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The Birmingham Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
