CULLMAN COUNTY — A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, has claimed the life of a Holly Pond man, according to Senior Trooper Cody Farrar of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
“Derek L. Humphries, 36, was fatally injured when the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a guardrail,” Farrar said. “Humphries was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.”
The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near the 316 mile marker, approximately three miles north of Vinemont, in Cullman County.
No further information is available as troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
