TRUSSVILLE, Ala.–The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce’s end of summer celebration Trussville Dog Daze is going ahead tomorrow, Sept. 14, no matter the weather.
“Dog Daze is scheduled to take place rain or shine. We are committed to ensuring a great experience for everyone, regardless of the weather conditions,” the chamber wrote on Facebook yesterday.
“Should there be any changes or important updates regarding the event, we will use social media for updates.”
The National Weather Service’s current forecast for Saturday predicts a 90% chance of precipitation and possible thunderstorms with up to one inch of new rainfall.
The free festival, presented by Brown Automotive Repair, is set to start at 10 a.m. on the Historic Trussville Mall.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the mall will have a host of kids activities, vendors, food trucks, football viewing experiences, balloon art, misting stations, a sidewalk chalk art contest, a blood drive, and more entertainment.
There will also be performances on the mall from the Cahaba Elementary Choir, Highway 11 Band, Miss Kelley’s Dance Studio, Birmingham Martial Arts, Slagheap Band, HTMS Dance Team, and Kristy White’s Music Students.
There will be charges for the pup strut and items purchased from vendors.
Kid Zone armbands for unlimited rides and inflatables will cost $25 and a portion of the money raised will be given back to the Trussville Chamber’s Scholarship Fund.
Dog Daze will be followed up by a free celebration concert at the Trussville Entertainment District at 7 p.m. featuring local musical performances from Ethan Womack and Sidecar.
