WALKER COUNTY, Ala.–A single-vehicle crash near Cordova early Thursday morning left one dead and one injured, according to ALEA Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., 53-year-old James Davis of Quinton was fatally injured when his 2001 Chevrolet S-10 pickup he was driving left the roadway and struck multiple trees.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
49-year-old Joy Stillwell of Dora, who was a passenger in the car, was injured and transported to UAB Hospital for treatment.
Neither Davis nor Stillwell were using a seat belt at the time of crash.
The crash occurred on River Road, approximately two miles northeast of Cordova.
ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division will continue to investigate.
