BIRMINGHAM — An overnight shooting in Lakeview entertainment district sent three people to area hospitals with non-life threatening wounds, according to Birmingham Police Sgt. LaQuitta Wade.
Police answered a call at 3:27 a.m. Sunday in the 3000 block of 7th Avenue South, Wade said. Two victims were transported to UAB Hospital by Birmingham Fire and Rescue while a third victim arrived at St. Vincent’s Hospital by private vehicle.
Police do not have a suspect in custody at this time.
There have been several shootings in the Lakeview entertainment district in recent years. Last night’s incident follows a mass shooting in Birmingham’s Five Points entertainment district last month.
