TRUSSVILLE, Ala.-Tonight was business as usual for most high school teams in the South. Friday night means football, high school football, and the later in the football season, the more serious it gets.
Programs begin looking forward to the playoffs. Tonight was no exception. Pratville came to call on the Hewit Trussville Huskies for homecoming, no doubt dreaming of an upset. However, with a defensive line that has played consistently for the past several weeks, Hewitt held the Lions scoreless until well after the first half of play.
On the opposite side of the field, the Husky offense seemed to have all the right moves with the football. With what felt like little resistance, the Huskies (6-2, 3-2) moved the ball up and down the field, scoring a total of 42 unanswered points before halftime.
The points came on a Noah Dobbins 34-yard touchdown run and a 28-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Cope.

Parker Floyd completed a 15-yard pass to Drew Ollis for a score, followed by a 53-yard touchdown run by Deuce Alston.
Before the first half ended, Dobbins added two more touchdown passes, one to Jackson Martin and one to Will Phillips, as the Huskies too a 42-0 lead to the locker room.
In a mostly uneventful third quarter, the Lions managed to put seven points on the board. To finish off the game, DJ Hall returned a kick-off 98 yards for a touchdown to add to Hewitt’s tally for the night. The Huskies stayed alive in region play with a 49-7 win over Prattville (4-3, 2-3).
Coach Josh Floyd was proud of his team because of the big region win against Prattville.
“We set the tone early by scoring early,” he said. “I was most proud of how we played complementary football, as the defense and offense both worked together for the win.”

The Huskies host their last regular reason region home game vs. Oak Mountain next Friday.
