BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–A 22-year-old has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of 35-year-old Diontranet Brown, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
Damien McDaniel, of Fairfield, has been charged with intentional murder and is being held in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
On Sept. 19 at around 8:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot at the 604 Bar and Lounge in the Smithfield neighborhood.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Brown lying unresponsive in the lounge suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported her to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
According to police, the preliminary investigation suggested that the shooter fired shots into the lounge from outside in a targeted shooting.
