ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala.–A Gadsden man died in an early morning crash on Wednesday after crashing into a parked car, according to ALEA Senior Trooper Vu Quang.
At approximately 2:48 a.m., William E. Martin II was fatally injured when the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser he was driving left the Interstate 59 roadway and struck an unoccupied 1997 Toyota Camry before overturning.
Martin, 47, was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred on I-59 near the 171 mile marker, approximately three miles south of Steele.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division will continue to investigate.
