BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–An Indonesian man who died last Friday after crashing into oncoming traffic has been identified.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified that man only as Makhturmino using a fingerprint comparison.
According to the coroner’s office, the decedent did not have a surname, which is common in Indonesia.
The crash occurred on Nov. 1 at approximately 11:48 a.m. at the 1500 block of Bankhead Highway in Birmingham.
According to the coroner’s office, Makhturmino’s vehicle crossed into the opposing lane and struck another vehicle.
Makhturmino, 59, was the lone occupant of his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the crash.
His work visa address was listed as Paragould, Arkansas.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the wreck.
