TRUSSVILLE, Ala.–The Trussville Entertainment District will be hosting a watch party tonight for Hewitt-Trussville’s first round playoff game against Baker.
The Huskies will take on the Hornets at 7 p.m. in Mobile.
Hewitt-Trussville finished the regular season 8-2 overall and 5-2 in 7A Region 3 play.
Despite the distance the team will travel, they will find a familiar face on the opposing sideline.
Baker head coach Juan Johnson served as the Huskies’ offensive coordinator for the past four years.
Though Johnson will be familiar with Hewitt-Trussville’s offense, the Husky defense is one of the best in the state and should have some success in stopping the Hornet offense.
Hewitt is also peaking at the right time, outscoring their last three opponents 161-7 to end the regular season.
The Hornets have only lost to Jackson and Mary Montgomery, and finished their season with a victory over previously undefeated 5A powerhouse Vigor.
Tonight’s winner will draw the Austin vs Enterprise game-winner.
