BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–A police chase on Monday ended with two 14-year-olds in custody and two suspects still at-large, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
On Nov. 11 at approximately 3:50 p.m., deputies responded to a report of persons with guns in the 5000 block of Myron Massey Road in Fairfield.
When deputies arrived, the suspect vehicle, a stolen 2019 Hyundai, reportedly refused to stop and fled the scene.
During the ensuing pursuit, the stolen vehicle struck a motorist on Allison Bonnett Memorial Drive, causing minimal damage.
The pursuit ended in the 5300 block of Molton Gray Drive in the Roosevelt neighborhood, where the suspect vehicle struck a vehicle that was parked in a driveway.
Four suspects exited the vehicle and ran into a nearby wooded area.
Midfield Police Department officers assisted and immediately captured one of the suspects, and Jefferson County K9 Units as well as Bessemer Police Department officers captured a second suspect as he exited the wooded area.
ALEA also responded to the scene to investigate both traffic accidents.
One weapon was recovered from the arrest location.
One of the 14-year-olds in custody has been charged with first-degree receiving stolen property, reckless endangerment, menacing, attempting to elude, certain persons forbidden, and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
The other 14-year-old in custody has been charged with attempting to elude.
Both suspects are in the custody of the Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Facility.
Two other suspects are still at-large.
