CENTER POINT — Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were answering a call for a traffic accident on Saturday when they encountered a vehicle with a man inside who had suffered a gunshot wound, according to Henry Irby of the JCSO.
“On Saturday, November 30, 2024, at approximately 2:52 p.m., deputies, while working an unrelated traffic accident in the area of 23rd and 25th Avenues NE, were approached by a vehicle that contained a 20-year-old male victim (passenger), who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,” Irby said. “Center Point Fire & Rescue transported the victim to U.A.B. Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.”
