From CBS 42 reports
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–Alabama could see its first snowflakes of the season tonight, according to CBS 42 Meteorologist Alex Puckett.
Monday: Temperatures will make their way into the upper 40s to around 50 degrees with plenty of sunshine to start the day. Clouds will drift in from the north during the evening hours. There’s a small chance parts of North Alabama could see a flurry or two overnight. There’s a good bit of dry air in the mid levels to evaporate any flakes before they reach the ground, but it’s possible a flake could fly in the Tennessee Valley. No Accumulations are expected in Alabama. It will be bitter cold overnight with lows in the mid 20s.
This Week: The coldest air since the middle of February will be here by Tuesday morning with widespread temperatures in the lower to middle 20s. High will only make it to the middle 40s Tuesday afternoon even with lots of sunshine. Low temperatures will be back in the lower to middle 20s Wednesday morning as well before a warm front lifts north and rapidly boosts us into the middle 50s Wednesday afternoon.
Clouds will increase through the day on Wednesday as moisture increases from our southwest. A few showers are possible in western Alabama late Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.
This rain will be associated with a cold front which passes Thursday afternoon, taking temperatures back to the upper 20s by Friday morning. Model solutions diverge quite a bit for the weekend forecast, but for now we’re going with a chance of rain and temperatures in the 50s.
