BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–The State of Alabama and Crime Stoppers have increased the reward for information on the 2016 shooting that claimed the life of Roger Cheatham to $15,000, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
Cheatham, 31, and another victim were shot in an apartment complex in the 2100 Block of 31st Avenue North on Aug. 16, 2016.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported both victims to UAB Hospital.
The following day, UAB Hospital staff pronounced Cheatham dead. The second victim survived.
According to police, the preliminary investigation suggested that at least three masked men broke into Cheatham’s apartment and that both victims were shot during the break-in.
Cheatham’s children were also inside the apartment during the shooting. They were not harmed.
There is still no one in custody.
