Meta’s websites including Facebook and Instagram began experiencing major outages Wednesday afternoon as users are unable to view or post on the sites.
Downdetector has received nearly 400,000 reports of Facebook Instagram outages from users in the last hour.
At 12:48 p.m., Meta posted on X, formerly Twitter, “We’re aware that a technical issue is impacting some users’ ability to access our apps. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience.”

Update: As of 3:20 p.m. The Tribune is able to access its Facebook and Instagram pages and has resumed posting.
