LEEDS, Ala.–A Trussville man has been charged in the shooting that killed 25-year-old Luis Enrique Herrera-Valenciana and injured a woman earlier this week, according to the Leeds Police Department.
Charles Richard Bryant, 40, has been charged with capital murder and attempted murder.
At approximately 12:55 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a report of shooting at a mobile home in the 700 block of Morgan Street.
Herrera-Valenciana, 25, was pronounced dead on the scene while the female victim was transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries to her torso.
Bryant was taken into custody at the scene without incident, according to police.
Detectives determined that the shooting was domestic related.
Bryant is currently incarcerated in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
