JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala.–A suspect in Sunday’s double shooting near Center Point has been arrested, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
De’Aquinez Bell, 25, has been charged with attempted murder and is being held on a $60,000 bond in the Jefferson County Jail.
On Dec. 29 at approximately 4:45 p.m., deputies responded to the Summit Ridge Apartments at the 200 block of Haversham Drive on a report of a person shot.
When deputies arrived on the scene they found a 29-year-old female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Center Point Fire & Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital for treatment for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies also discovered that an 18-year-old male victim who was also shot had been transported by a personal vehicle to a local hospital.
The victim is reportedly in critical condition at this time, according to the sheriff’s office.
