LEEDS, Ala.–A groundbreaking ceremony for the highly anticipated SpringHill Suites by Marriott hotel in Leeds has been scheduled for next Thursday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m.
Set to be located at Rex Lake Road, the project will be developed and managed by Jackson Hospitality Services, which was granted a tax rebate by the Leeds City Council in December 2023. The new hotel was officially announced in March 2024 and is estimated to amount to a $21 million investment.
“We are thrilled to welcome SpringHill Suites to Leeds,” said Mayor David Miller. “This new hotel will be a significant addition to our growing community, offering a modern and comfortable stay option for visitors and business travelers. It will also create new jobs and contribute to the local economy.”
Jackson Hospitality Services owns the Hampton Inn, also located on Rex Lake Road.
“This hotel will offer guests a comfortable and convenient stay experience with all the amenities they need, including spacious suites, free breakfast, and a fitness center,” said Cory Jackson Jr., President of Jackson Hospitality Services.
An opening for the new hotel is projected to be 2026. It will feature 115 guest rooms, a “spacious” lobby, and a bar, along with lobby décor to display a Formula One race car that is on loan from the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum nearby.
If there is inclement weather the ceremony will be held indoor at the Hampton Inn located at 310 Rex Lake Road.
