BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–As crews work to clear roads across central Alabama, crews with Alabama Power are now working to restore power to many homes in the area.
According to Alabama Power, there were 92 active outages in central Alabama as of 7:30 a.m. Friday, affecting approximately 5,016 customers.

The outages comes as snow has been coming down in droves across the area, forcing many cities and counties to shut down roads as a safety precaution. Currently, over half of the counties in Alabama are under a state of emergency order.
