MONTGOMERY — Fourteen student-athletes from Tribuneland were selected to participate in the 2026 Alabama High School Athletic Association North-South All-Star Week, while Springville softball coach John Taruc was chosen to lead the North softball team.
Hewitt-Trussville led the way with 10 selections across seven sports.
Jace Riggan was selected to the North roster after helping lead the Huskies to the Class 7A state championship.
The Huskies also placed a pair of athletes on the basketball rosters, with Dalton Black selected to the North boys team and Lauryn Holley named to the North girls squad.
Jonah Turner earned selection to the North golf team, while Jordan Carter was chosen to represent the Huskies in boys tennis.
Soccer standout Catherine Mize and state champion outfielder Presley Hull were selected to the North soccer and softball teams, respectively.
Hewitt-Trussville’s cross country program was also well represented as John Paul Amari, Noah Jordan and Mary Durham were selected. Durham turned in a runner-up finish in the girl’s 5K race.
Springville had three all-star selections.
Midfielder Will Millender and Madalyn Howard earned spots on the North boys and girls soccer teams, while Georgia Chancellor was selected to the North softball squad.
In addition to the three athletes, Springville’s John Taruc was selected as the North softball head coach.
Moody was represented by standout infielder Kennedy Hockman, who was selected to the North softball roster.
The AHSAA North-South All-Star Week, organized by the Alabama High School Athletic Directors and Coaches Association, took place in Montgomery this week and showcased many of the state’s leading upcoming seniors.
