BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A Moody man was pronounced dead Sunday after being discovered unresponsive in his cell at the Jefferson County Jail, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
53-year-old Gregory Lamar Johnson was found unresponsive around 11:17 a.m. on Sunday, Aug 9. He was pronounced dead at the jail at 11:48 a.m.
A postmortem exam was performed Monday and found no evidence of foul play, according to the coroner’s office.
The cause of death remains pending further lab studies.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death.
