BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Eight students from Trussville and Pinson are among 100 new students to be accepted into the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA) for the 2026-2027 school year.
“After spending each morning on robust academic coursework that exceeds state high school diploma standards, students in grades 7-12 devote sustained hours every day to honing their craft, flexing their creativity, and developing their unique voices within their chosen discipline of either creative writing, dance, music, theatre arts, visual arts or advanced mathematics and science,” said a press release from ASFA.
Those accepted were:
Virtue Freeman in Dance
Polina Nazarenko and James Worrell in Music
Jackson Page, Aubrie Payne and Mackson Prescott in Theatre Arts
Katelyn Farley and Makenzye Holmes in Visual Arts
