BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A 39-year-old man was killed early Thursday morning after being hit by several vehicles while riding his bicycle along Sweeney Hollow Road.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the crash happened around 3:51 a.m. on the 3100 block of Sweeney Hollow Road.
The coroner’s office said one of the vehicles involved was a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:59 a.m.
The individual has been positively identified, but his name is being withheld until family members can be located and notified of the death.
State troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are investigating the incident.
