DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. — A woman from Fort Payne was killed Friday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 11.
70-year-old Colleen K. Jones was operating a 1999 Toyota Camry when it was hit by a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by 40-year-old John David Andrew, also of Fort Payne, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Following the initial collision, Jones’ Camry was hit by a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria LX, driven by 29-year-old Matthew C. Dunn, of Cedar Bluff.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash took place around 5:25 p.m. Aug. 14, near the 223-mile marker, around a mile south of Fort Payne.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating.
