ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala. — The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is warning of a new scam targeting residents.
According to a recent announcement the scammers are impersonating deputies from SCCSO. They tell residents that they’ve missed a grand jury court date and that they must send money to an account or a warrant will be issued against them.
Anyone who receives a call like this is advised not to give any personal information away.
“We will not contact you and never ask for money, money orders, or money to be paid to any account,” said the announcement.
