TRUSSVILLE, Ala. — The sixth annual First Responders Cornhole Tournament raised approximately $11,000 for Children’s of Alabama’s Spina Bifida Camp on Saturday.
“This year’s tournament was a true collaboration between Irondale and Trussville first responders,” said a post on social media from the Irondale Police Department.
The post highlighted IPD Sgt. Logan Schell and Trussville Police Department Cpl. James McCool for planning the event, as well as the volunteers, sponsors, doners and supporters.
Peak Season was noted for donating a patio set valued at approximately $3,000 for the winner of our Long Toss Competition.
It was announced that there was a “friendly rivalry” between Irondale Mayor James D. Stewart, Jr. and Trussville Mayor Ben Short for who could raise the most money, with Irondale claiming the win by raising $7,000.
