Former Hewitt-Trussville standout Tyler Tolbert of the Kansas City Royals represented the Huskies during MLB Players’ Weekend, held Aug. 21-23.
According to Major League Baseball, the annual event gives players from all 30 teams a chance to showcase their personalities, off-field passions, and charitable causes through custom equipment.
Tolbert showed off custom cleats and a bat featuring Hewitt-Trussville-themed designs, 10 years after helping the Huskies win the 2016 AHSAA state championship.
Tolbert was a key member of that championship team before continuing his baseball career at UAB and eventually reaching the major leagues with Kansas City.
