TRUSSVILLE, Ala. — Trussville mayor Ben Short recently announced that a police car featuring new striping and graphics has been purchased with grant funding.
Short did not say what the source of the funding was but stated that the new look will make police cars more visible and easier to identify.
“Over the last several years, our department has utilized the black-on-black decal package on many of our patrol vehicles,” he said. “While it has a clean appearance, I believe our marked police vehicles should be clearly visible to the public both as a deterrent and so residents can quickly recognize an officer when they need assistance.”
Short added that as vehicles in the fleet are replaced the current black on black markings will be phased out.
