TRUSSVILLE-The Hewitt-Trussville volleyball team is now 18-7 and has earned its first-ever No. 1 ranking in Class 6A.
“We’re off to a strong start, and it’s been an exciting season for our program,” coach Andie Freedman said. “We are ranked No. 1 in the state in 6A for the first time in school history, but our focus remains on continuing to improve and compete at a high level.”
The Huskies are 2-0 in area play heading into Senior Night against Saint Clair County on Tuesday before concluding area play Thursday at Vestavia.
“From there, our sub-varsity teams will compete in their season-ending Metro tournaments, while varsity travels to Homewood High School for the Margaret Blalock Tournament,” Freedman said. “With postseason play beginning the second week of October, we’re excited about where we are and ready for the challenges ahead.”
