Jordan Michael Lusk passed away unexpectedly on September 13, 2026. Born with a gentle spirit and a loyal heart, Jordan lived a life defined by kindness, curiosity, and deep devotion to the people he loved.
A 2006 graduate of Mountain Brook High School, Jordan went on to attend the University of Alabama, where he studied business and continued nurturing his lifelong love of learning. From childhood, he possessed a rare blend of athletic talent, musical ability, and intellectual curiosity. He played piano beautifully by ear beginning at age five, and his favorite piece Time by Hans Zimmer reflected the depth and emotion he carried within him. He was also an avid reader, always exploring new ideas and perspectives.
Jordan is survived by his mother, Karen Lusk Smith, of Mountain Brook, Alabama; his stepfather, Gregg L. Smith, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; his brother Spenser Smith, sister-in-law Shelby, and nephew Barrett Smith, all of Spartanburg, South Carolina. He leaves behind a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who now grieve his loss. Jordan found deep comfort and companionship in his beloved dogs Mayer, Senate, and Poppi.
He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Steven Lusk, and his brother, Jonathan Taylor Lusk, whose memories he cherished deeply.
Jordan’s family was everything to him. He loved fiercely and without hesitation, embracing friends as brothers and always standing up for the underdog. His compassion was instinctive. He noticed those who needed a friend and made sure they never felt alone. He adored sweet treats, his father’s chili, and his mother’s spaghetti, each carrying memories of home and love.
Jordan was cremated in September 2026 according to his wishes. His ashes will be scattered alongside his father and brother at a special location meaningful to their family. A private Celebration of Life will be held in November.
Jordan’s legacy is one of tenderness, loyalty, and quiet strength. He will be forever loved and deeply missed.
