BIRMINGHAM – The ninth-ranked lady Blue Devils from Moody took to the road in a region clash against the Wenonah Dragons on Tuesday that ended in disaster for the home team and continued a trend of dominating opponents for the visitors as Wren Moore’s girls brought home a 51-12 region victory following wins over St. Anne-Pacelli (31-13) and Spain Park (44-13).
Offensively, Serenity Rutledge had a great night, hitting on 14 of 16 passes for 443 yards and six touchdowns. Her favorite target in this game was Aleigha Rhetta who snagged six catches for 224 yards and four touchdowns. Sophie White added five catches for 132 yards followed by Kennedy Hockman’s five catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns. White added six runs for 95 yards as well.
Cheyenne Moore led the defense with eight flag pulls followed by Rutledge and White with four each. Sophia Dryburgh continued to be a menace in the defensive backfield, with an interception. Jade Roper had a pick as well.
The lady Blue Devils ended the game with a total of 558 yards on offense.
“We are peaking at the right time,” said Moody coach Wren Moore. “You can feel the difference. The switch has officially been turned on.”
The Blue Devils look to continue their dominance as they take on Helena and John Carroll Wednesday night before a rescheduled game at Leeds on Thursday.
