SPRINGVILLE, Ala. — Norfolk Southern officials are continuing the clean-up effort following a 34 car derailment on Thursday.
Saturday afternoon, Springville Police issued a statement for area drivers.
“Per Norfolk Southern, trains traveling through town over the next several days will be moving at a reduced rate of speed while repairs to the railroad tracks are still being completed,” SPD officials said. “Please be aware that this may result in longer-than-normal wait times at railroad crossings.
Officials stated appreciation for “everyone’s patience and understanding as Norfolk Southern continues working to complete these repairs.”
Drivers were encouraged to plan accordingly and use caution around all railroad crossings.
