TRUSSVILLE — The man accused in a stabbing at Firehouse Subs on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, has been officially charged, according to police.
Jaerik McGraw, 19, of Birmingham, is charged with attempted murder. He will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
Police said McGraw was employed at Firehouse Subs. They believe he stabbed a 17-year-old co-worker in the neck when he arrived to work around 3:59 p.m., on Tuesday, April 21. Witnesses said the two were involved in a verbal altercation the day before. The victim is from Trussville.
The suspect left the scene after the stabbing but was arrested at 5:40 p.m. in the 1900 block of Brewster Road, according to Detective Ben Short.
Trussville Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene Wednesday. The victim was taken to UAB Hospital for treatment. His injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.
