BIRMINGHAM — Progress is being made on the $174 million dollar Protective Stadium in Birmingham. The stadium is scheduled to be completed in 2021.
Populous, an architectural firm, designed the 45,000 capacity, open-air stadium, along with the BJCC and other partners, including Protective.
Protective Stadium will be home to the University of Alabama (UAB) football team. The multi-use stadium will also host other events. It is located near the BJCC.
The project is funded by the BJCC Authority, the city of Birmingham, Jefferson County, Protective Life Corporation and UAB.
