ETOWAH COUNTY — According to Alabama State Troopers, a man was killed when his vehicle crashed into the back of a fire truck on Interstate 59. The two-vehicle crash occurred at 8:16 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15. The man’s identity has not been released at this time.
“A 2005 Nissan Armada struck the back of a Reece City fire truck killing a passenger of the Nissan,” Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey said. “The unidentified male was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Bailey said the driver and two other passengers were taken from the scene for treatment and have yet to be positively identified.
The crash occurred on Interstate 59 at the 195 mile marker, six miles north of Gadsden. No further information is available as the crash remains under investigation.
