HOUSTON — Houston, we don’t have a problem. Two NASA astronauts are on a mission outside of the International Space Station (ISS), on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021.
The astronauts are NASA Flight Engineers Michael Hopkins and Victor Glover. They arrived at the ISS via the SpaceX Crew Dragon Resilience spacecraft.
The two are completing long-term battery upgrade work. They are installing a final lithium-ion battery adapter plate on the port 4 truss.
“Hopkins and Glover will remove another grapple fixture bracket on the same truss segment, replace an external camera on the starboard truss, install a new high-definition camera on the Destiny laboratory, and replace components for the Japanese robotic arm’s camera system outside the Kibo module,” NASA said in a press release.
The same astronauts also ventured out on Wed. Jan. 27 to finish the installation of a European science platform.
