TRUSSVILLE — Cameras were recording on Thursday, March 25, 2021, as a possible tornado came through the city of Trussville.
The National Weather Service is still surveying the damage to confirm how many storms were tornadoes, but there were several confirmed reports of tornadoes. The outbreak claimed at least five lives and major damage was caused in Shelby and Calhoun counties.
In Trussville, no injuries were reported but several areas and businesses along Gadsden Highway had damaged.

Some neighborhoods also suffered damage. One camera at the intersection of Gadsden Highway and Mary Taylor Road caught the storm rolling through. Other cameras lost power and did not capture the storm.
In the video, provided by Trussville Police, you can see the wind picking up and heavy rainfall sweeping across the roadway. You can see debris lifting into the air and rolling across the road. Several cars were still on the roadway during the storm.
A tornado warning was issued for the area ahead of the storm. The National Weather Service had tracked the possible tornado from Roebuck, where damage was also reported.
