CENTER POINT — The Eagles will have to wait a little longer to fly.
The Wenonah Dragons, scheduled to head into Center Point to kick off the 2021 season, forfeited their first game under new head coach Nicholas Howard, citing COVID-19 issues, according to Center Point head coach George Bates.
“I just got off the phone with their coach, who called to cancel the game,” Bates said. “Unfortunately, he said they had a COVID-19 issue, so Center Point wins by forfeit. It’s unfortunate, you know, because you never want to win a game that way.”
The Eagles will play at Fairfield next Thursday, August 26, 2021.
