From The Tribune Staff Reports
ATALLA, Ala. — Tigers for Tomorrow hosts a pumpkin toss every weekend at 2 p.m., beginning October 9 through November 28 at the MolJac Bear Wolf Education Pavilion. Join the staff and volunteers in providing preserve animals with lots of fun enrichment and the tossing of pumpkins.
Take an adventure and embrace the spirit of the fall season by making scarecrows for the animals to engage with at our Wild Workshop. “Scarecrows for the Animals” Wild Enrichment Workshop starts at 11 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. on October 9. It’s $40 for adults and for children ages 4 – 11 it’s $35. Purchase your “Scarecrows for the Animals” at tigersfortomorrow.org
Together we’ll make some scarecrows that are safe for the animals to romp around with. It will be a terrific way to enrich their day with some fall fun. We will provide all the supplies. However, if you’d like to donate some clothes for your scarecrow, it would be appreciated. Not to mention, it’s a great way to recycle/re-purpose some old clothes; they love old denim jeans.
After some crafty fun, we will take a box lunch break at our Pavilion, followed by a tour down into the preserve. You will get to see some of the animals receive the scarecrows we created, and you will be with us for the first Pumpkin Toss. It will certainly be a sight to see! Make sure to reserve your spot on our website by purchasing your tickets for this falltastic wild workshop.
2nd Annual Recycled Scarecrow Contest
Let’s decorate the preserve! It’s time to start getting your recycling items together and working on a scarecrow. Recycle and re-purpose items like milk jugs, old clothes, boxes, and more to create a scarecrow that will decorate the preserve! Bring your scarecrow of recycled items on any weekend of October (Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Scarecrows will be judged at the end of October, and our winners will receive a private feed tour of the preserve with up to 5 family members.
October- December: Open to the public, Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Last admission at 4 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, children ages 4 – 11 are $7.50, and children three and under are free.
