From The Tribune staff reports
BIRMINGHAM — There is a “marginal risk” of severe weather on of Saturday, December 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Tribune coverage area.
According to James Spann with alabamawx.com, even though severe weather is not expected to impact the Tribune coverage area, the main threat will come from strong, potentially damaging straight-line winds and a few isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out. In addition, rain is anticipated to be briefly heavy, but flooding is not expected.
The threat of severe weather will be gone after 12 p.m. as the line will be south of I-20, pushing into the southern counties by mid to late afternoon.
The more significant of severe weather will stay in the Northwest corner of Alabama.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the 50s after the line of storms rolls through, and we should have clear skies Saturday night.
