JEFFERSON COUNTY — Beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the left or right lane at 7 p.m. and the center lane at 8 p.m. on I-20 EB or WB for asphalt planning and Overlay operations between Milepost 130.5 (Near U.S. 11; 1st Ave N Exit 130A and B) and Milepost 140.2 (Near Leeds Exit 140).
All travel lanes are expected to re-open at approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, August 29.
These same lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, August 29, through Friday, September 2.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Construction Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
