UPDATE: The Trussville Police Department announced that the Deerfoot Parkway is re-open.

TRUSSVILLE — A two-vehicle crash on Deerfoot Parkway on Saturday, August 27, at approximately 6:20 p.m. has caused the Northbound lane to be closed.
According to the Trussville Police Department (TPD), a car collided with a motorcycle on Deerfoot Parkway at Mount Olive Church Road, and there are reports of injuries.
“The northbound lanes of Deerfoot going towards Old Springville Road, those will be shut down for a little while,” Riner said. “Probably the entrance ramp to I-59 South right there at Deerfoot that will be closed as well.”
The traffic unit is investigating the crash, and medics are on the scene.
Lieutenant Clint Riner said that the motorcyclist is reportedly injured and is being transported to UAB in Birmingham.
The lanes will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. Therefore, motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes.
