TRUSSVILLE — A Trussville woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Monday, Feb. 12, according to Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates.
Yates said Leola W. Manuel, 82, of Trussville, died in the crash.
The crash occurred on Carrington Drive at Gadsden Highway just after 2 p.m. on Monday.
The Trussville Police Department responded to a motor vehicle collision with injuries on Monday February 12, 2024, at 2:22 p.m., according to Trussville Police Lt. Clint Riner.
“The collision occurred at the intersection of Gadsden Highway and Carrington Drive.,” Riner said. “Witnesses on scene observed a Hyundai Accent attempt a left turn from Carrington Drive onto Gadsden Highway. The Hyundai was struck by a Buick Enclave who was travelling north on Gadsden Highway.”
Both drivers were transported by Trussville Fire and Rescue for injuries from the collision. The driver of the Hyundai was transported to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
This incident is still being investigated by the Trussville Police Department’s Traffic Unit.
