CLAY — Clay-Chalkville is again No. 2 in this week’s Class 6A Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings, the same the Cougars have been since Week 1.
Spanish Fort is No. 1, earning 27 of 30 first-place votes. Clay-Chalkville earned two first-place votes, and No. 3 Shades Valley garnered one first-place vote.
The rest of the Class 6A top 10, in order, are Opelika, Blount, Saraland, Florence, Carver-Montgomery, Decatur and McAdory.
In Class 7A, Hewitt-Trussville earned one vote for top 10 consideration, essentially tying the Huskies with Enterprise and Theodore for 14th.
The Class 7A top 10, in order, are Hoover, Fairhope, Central-Phenix City, Prattville, Gadsden City, Oak Mountain, Baker, Bob Jones, Foley and Murphy.
