Faculty members at Hewitt-Trussville High School were recently recognized for academic qualities exhibited in the areas of Biology and Physics, through the Advanced Placement Program at the school.
Teachers, Felecia Gulledge and Eric Lambert, both AP Physics teachers, recently received two awards from A+ College Ready.
The first award was for having a high quantity of students with qualifying AP scores. This means that the students in these classes consistently performed well on their tests and in class. The second award was for having the highest increase in qualifying scores from 2011 to 2012 score reports in Physics.
HTHS AP Biology teachers Jeana Gilbert and Mary Alice Major recently received an award from A+ College Ready for having the highest qualifying scores from the 2011 score report in AP Biology.
In 2008, at the request of Governor Riley and the state superintendent, A+ Education Partnership established a new program aimed to improve student comprehension and test scores in the areas of math, science and English.
