From The Trussville Tribune Staff Reports
Former Hewitt-Trussville basketball star Jarvis Calhoun has signed to play at Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, N.C.
Calhoun wrapped up a solid two-season stint at John A. Logan Community College after a redshirt year at UAB.
Lenoir-Rhyne is an NCAA Division II program that plays in the South Atlantic Conference.
Calhoun will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Calhoun, a 6-foot, 165-pound guard, was an Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State pick after his senior year at Hewitt-Trussville, where he scored more than 2,000 points in his career.
He signed with UAB but saw limited action in his freshman year as the Blazers won the Conference USA tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
As a sophomore at Logan, Calhoun averaged 10.2 points a game on a balanced team that posted a 25-8 record. He made 38 percent of his 3-point attempts.
