From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
The famed motorcycle manufacturing company, Harley-Davidson, recently issued a recall of 174,636 units due to the potential for brake failure, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The company is recalling all of its 2008-2011 Touring, CVO Touring and VSRC motorcycles that are equipped with anti-lock brakes. According to a report by NHTSA, deposits may form on parts of the brake system in a Harley-Davidson model’s brake system if the DOT 4 fluid is not replaced after more than two years.
The recall will go into effect on Feb. 12.
Owners of a model being affected may take their vehicle to a Harley-Davidson dealership to have the brake fluid replaced. The Harley-Davidson customer service phone number can be reached at 1-800-258-2464.
A list of models being affected is included in the release by NHTSA.
